Sweets for you

Once a boy went to a shop with his mother. The shopkeeper looked at the child and showed him a bottle with sweets and said, ‘Dear child, you can take these sweets.” The child, however did not open the bottle. The shopkeeper was surprised! Again, he asked him to take the sweet. Hearing this the child’s mother said,” Yes, you can take the sweets,” yet the child didn’t move. The shopkeeper took out some sweets from the bottle and offered them to the child. The little boy smiled and took the sweets offered by the shopkeeper. When they returned home, his mother asked,”Why didn’t you take those sweets when the shopkeeper asked you first?” The child replied,”My hands are small and if I had taken those sweets, I would have been able to take only a few, but now you see when the shopkeeper gave me the sweets with his own hands, I was able to get many more sweets!” Similarly, when we ask for something and take it, we might get only a little, but when God gives us something, he gives us beyond our expectations, more than what we can hold.
