Missed chance

A philosopher made an appointment with Nasiruddin to have a scholarly discussion. When the day came, the philosopher dropped by Nasiruddin’s house as planned. However Nasiruddin was not at home. The philosopher angrily took a pencil out of his pocket and wrote “Stupid” on Nasiruddin’s door and left. Nasiruddin came on later and saw the note. He quickly realised that he has missed the appointment, and he darted off to the philosopher’s house.

“Forgive my error”, Nasiruddin told the philosopher when he got there. I totally forgot about our appointment today, but when I got home and saw that you have written your name on my door, i immediately remembered and I came here as fast as I could.
